2008 Season: 40 Years of BCLL

Fall Season

We have had one of our best Fall Ball baseball seasons to date, with three Tee Ball, four Coach Pitch, four Boys Minor baseball, and six Major baseball teams! 105 Games will be played, including the first single elimination tournament for Fall starting at the end of October for Coach Pitch divisions and up.

Spring Season

Bennett’s Creek Little League celebrated our fortieth year of bringing Little League to Suffolk. We hosted a series of special games for each of our divisions on opening day, March 29, 2008. We were proud to have a memorable line-up of people and organizations helping us start our anniversary season, including Congressman Randy Forbes, Suffolk Major Linda T. Johnson, Sky-dive Suffolk, Inc., and the Nansemond River High School Band.

BCLL had three Major, three Minor, and one Big League Softball Girls teams; six Major Boys, eight Minor Boys, and eight Coach Pitch Boys teams. Rounding out the field was another big turnout of eight T-Ball teams comprised of 104 Boys and Girls. We were the only league in the district with a Challenger Division with two teams. In all, our program supported 111 Girls and 352 Boys, for a grand total of 478 children. A total of 347 games were played on five fields last spring.
